Mixmaster Squirt

A handless mixer for children, is designed to help children mix their favorite powdered drink. The ideations for the handless mixer started with explorations of different Pixar© movie and characters. Movies such as Shark Tales, Monsters Inc., and Finding Nemo were used.

Squirt, from Finding Nemo, was chosen as the character to model the mixer after. Early itterations explored different forms of a turtle, then finally going with the known form of Squirt himself. His oversized flippers and googly eyes best appeal to children between the ages of five and ten (even college students!).

The handless mixer is made up of two parts: Squirt and the base. Squirt, contains a stir bar and has a textured stomach, so when it is placed in the cup, it spins and mixes the child’s drink. The stir bar in Squirt reacts to the spinning electromagnets in the base.
Running Sneaker Redesigned

Running Sneaker Ideations

Since this sneaker is designed for a runner, specific materials are used for support and protection. This shoe is also designed for outdoor running, so other consierations were made to support this. The outer sole (1) is made of two types of materials, carbon rubber and blown rubber. Carbon rubber, the same rubber used for tires, gives the sole durability, while the blown rubber gives the runner cushion and flexability. Next, is the midsole (2), this is made of both EVA and polyurethane. EVA is a light weight foam that provides cushioning and polyurethane is a more durable cushioning. Both the toe cap (3) and heel counter (4) are made of a reflective material. The overlay detail (5) is a transparent plastic that is fairly flexable. Finally, the upper (6) is combination of a waterproof membrane and mesh canvas.
